The Parthenon Frieze was a continuous band, 160 meters in length, with figures in relief that ran along the upper part of the main temple, within its outer colonnade. The subject of the frieze was the procession that took place during the Great Panathenaia, in honour of the goddess Athena. In this booklet, the pupils explore the Parthenon, its sculptures and especially the frieze. They learn about the events that took place at the Panathenaic Festival, they identify the participants in the procession as well as the gifts offered to the goddess.

The booklet can be combined with the use of the Museum Kit ” The Parthenon Frieze” and the online application “The Parthenon Frieze“.
